Benefits and rebates

Government childcare benefit is available at our centre. You will need to lodge a childcare benefit form with the Family Assistance Office (FAO). Our centre provider number is 555 003 817V. Please quote this when lodging your form.

Childcare benefit (CCB) is a payment designed to assist families with the cost of child care and is based on the family’s taxable income. CCB can be claimed as a weekly reduction or as a lump sum payment at the end of the financial year. CCB will not be deducted from fees until the Family Assistance Office informs the centre of the CCB rate. Parents need to provide the centre with their family and children’s CRN numbers before commencing care. This can be obtained from the FAO.

Child care tax rebate is a payment for parents and guardians who are working, studying or training. The rebate is NOT income tested. The Federal Government will pay families 50 percent of their out of pocket child care costs up to $7500 a year per child. This can be paid quarterly or as an annual lump sum payment. In order to receive this tax rebate, families need to ensure that they have registered with the FAO. Forms for both the childcare benefit and the tax rebate can be downloaded from the FAO website.

Absence days CCB is paid for up to 42 absence days for each child per financial year, which includes casual days off, holidays and illness without a medical certificate. When 42 days have been reached by the family, CCB will not assist with payment of any further absences. Absence accompanied by a medical certificate does not count towards the 42-day allowance. The number of absence days your child uses will be clearly stated in your account.
